About us – Panah, The Earthen Retreat
Panah- The Earthen Retreat is a handcrafted, sustainable luxury property nestled in the laps of breathtaking Karakoram ranges, at Hunder, Nubra Valley, Leh- Ladakh.
How we are sustainable: At the heart of Panah’s sustainability vision is not only the commitment to reduce our impact on the shared environment but also to contribute towards a positive change. The walls are made of a material found in every household called ‘Multani Mitti’. It helps regulate the temperature and oxygen levels in the room.
Panah- The Earthen Retreat, is a luxury property with 4 Luxury villas and 1 presidential villa. Each villa is handcrafted with love and cares keeping in mind the rich heritage of Ladakh, equipped with all modern amenities. The property is 300 Meters away from the famous silver sand dunes of Hunder village and surrounded by lush green eco poplar trees.
We have taken special care to ensure that the elements of nature are reflected in our hospitality, our property reflects this in its spirit by being hundred per cent chemical-free. At Panah, it is always our effort to contribute to creating and maintaining an organic and sustainable environment. The property offers a wide range of customized experiences and delicious cuisines. Our menu is specially designed and curated by Master chef Vijay Lakshmi from Master Chef India.

Presidential Villa: 'Khardung La' (Total 1)
1. Two master bedrooms with attached bathrooms. (1 room with King Size Bed and 2nd with twin sharing beds)
2. Common living room with hamaam.
3. Personal Balcony
4. Private front garden with a bonfire pit.
5. Private back garden with a bonfire pit and traditional Barbeque.
6. Terrace with specially designed stargazing chairs.

A stay at Panah is not just a regular place to halt for the night in your journey onwards. It’s an experience in itself. We have attempted to bring to you a wonderful handcrafted schedule of things to do while you soak in the elusive mountain sun and take in the vast mountain desert.

1. One master bedroom with a king-size bed and attached bathroom.
2. One living room with a personal hammam and a European style changing room.

3. We also host live Barbeque for those with a taste for Smokey flavours on chilly nights.

Please note the property is located very near to silver sand dunes, the look and feel of the property will give you a glimpse of the cold desert but with a touch of green flora. Pathways are made of sands from silver sand dunes and rock stones found in Nubra valley.
